CLASSIC ALBUM: Hole – Live Through This

One of the most iconic albums of the 90s, Live Through This was released in April 1994 and while it’s release will always be intertwined with the suicide of Courtney Love’s husband Kurt Cobain just a week prior, this should not, as time goes on, detract from the quality of the music on offer on this genuine classic.

From the opening duo of Violet and Miss World, through Asking For It, Jennifer’s Body and Doll Parts and closing track Olympia, Live Through This has everything you could want from a 90s rock record, heart-on-the-sleeve honesty, while also encapsulating the then record buying public’s fascination with everything grungy and punk but never for one moment sounding anything like a sell-out.

Phenomenal record.
