The complete LP + bonus track – limited edition 180g audiophile vinyl pressing. Pianist Oscar Peterson’s Frank Sinatra tribute features his legendary trio with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Ed Thigpen playing easy listening jazz versions of a dozen songs associated with the great singer, all arranged by Peterson himself.
The renditions are all under four minutes and include such highlights as ‘Come Dance with Me’, ‘Just in Time’, ‘I Get a Kick Out of You’ and ‘How About You?’ This is not one of Oscar Peterson’s most recognized albums but, nonetheless, deserves a space on the shelves of all Peterson and Sinatra fans alike.
Frank Sinatra and Oscar Peterson did not have a long-term collaborative relationship, but they did collaborate on ‘A Jazz Portrait of Frank Sinatra. Although they didn’t perform together extensively, this album displays a notable collaboration between the two musical giants.
