Woodrow Wilson “Woody” Guthrie (July 14, 1912 – October 3, 1967) was an American singer-songwriter and musician whose musical legacy includes hundreds of political, traditional, and children’s songs, along with ballads and improvised works. His best-known songs are included on this album, among them This Land Is Your Land, Pastures of Plenty, So Long It’s Been Good to Know You, Do-Re-Mi, Pretty Boy Floyd and The Grand Coulee Dam.
