Cuban-born percussionist Cándido de Guerra Camero, also known simply as Candido backed numerous jazz acts since the 1950s. One of the first musicians to use the congas in jazz music, along with Diego Iborra and Chano Pozo, Candido played with Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Taylor, Stan Kenton, and Charlie Parker, among many others.
