Nicht Cindy C. Full Length Version (2022 Remaster) (04:26) Celebrating the icon’s 65th birthday Falco’s impact on today’s musical landscape remains tremendous, as impressively demonstrated just last year with the remastered deluxe edition of “Emotional” returning to the official album chart after 35 years, reaching #28 in Germany and #7 in Austria. Now the series continues with two high-profile releases: On April 1, the fifth and sixth studio albums of the Viennese eccentric, “Wiener Blut” (1988) and “Data De Groove” (1990), will be released as deluxe editions. Both albums have been out of print for a considerable time and are now released in remastered quality as 2CD and digital. Both formats feature various versions, mixes and edits of several album tracks. The CD versions of both deluxe editions come with a multi-page booklet. To this day, Falco – who would celebrate his 65th birthday on February 19 – remains one of the few internationally successful artists singing in the German language. He still holds the record of the only artist ever to conquer #1 on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart in the U.S. with a German-speaking song (1986, “Rock Me Amadeus”). “Data de Groove”, released in May 1990, once again followed some profound changes in the artist’s life and lifestyle, in this case divorcing his wife Isabella and going on a six-month trip around the world. The album was released following his return and saw him reunite with Robert Ponger, the producer on Falco’s first two albums and composer of his first big hit “Der Kommissar”. The pair also went back to their tried and tested approach to songwriting: Ponger wrote the music while Falco came up with the words. The record has often been described as a concept album celebrating the age of computing. However, a closer examination of the subjects covered leads to the conclusion that the thread common to all of the tracks is actually sex rather than computers. “Data De Groove” and “Charisma Kommando” were released as singles. All of the mixes produced at the time (including the full-length versions of four songs only found on the first CD release) are included on CD2 of this deluxe edition. One mix of “Charisma Kommando” is available on CD for the first time. “Data de Groove” is considered to be complex and intellectual, with many fans regarding it as one of Falcos most authentic works.
