Three tracks are recent collaborations MacDonald has been successfully cultivating. Another ZZ Hill song (penned by Denise La Salle) ‘Stepping In’’ features Freddie King’s brother and band leader Benny Turner, recorded at Ecko Studios in Memphis. This is one of the successful digital singles of 2023 given it’s first physical release. So too MacDonald’s song ‘Devil’s Chain’ featuring Scottish Americana singer Kerri Watt, inspired by what June Carter said to Johnny Cash referring to his demons “Every dollar you earn is another link in the Devil’s Chain”.
