NATIONAL ALBUM DAY 2024 LP LIMITED EDITION YELLOW VINYL The Waterboys were formed in London in 1981 and led by the singer/ songwriter Mike Scott, the groups only constant member – with the supporting musicians ever changing around him 1988s Fishermans Blues is the Waterboyss 4th album, for whichthe band were joined by traditional Irish players over a 3 year period, recording a mix of Irish trad, country, Soul and Rock, resulting in a stripped- down, folky sound which was a marked step away from the “big music” he founded and pursued in previous albums. It has been called their warmest and most rewarding record. The album has cut at half-speed by Barry Grint at AIR Studios, London.
