The album called Flute Chapters features six tracks chosen by Amy that reflect the development of the flute repertoire through the years, chapters in an evolving story. The album showcases the incredible versatility and sound capacity of the flute whilst also paying homage to composers who have and had a special association with the flute. The tracks which are mainly by composers with a special association with the flute include: Earth by Takatsugu Muramatsu, Souvenir des Alpes by Theobold Boehm, Syrinx by Claude Debussy, Air Valaques by Franz Doppler, Fantaisie by Philip Gaubert, and Carmen Fantasy by Pablo de Sarasate. There is a bonus track The town I loved so well by Phil Coulter. The album features flute with piano accompaniment (Gary Beecher) and was recorded at Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin. Flutist Amy Gillen plays with ‘incredible dexterity and musicality’ (Music Critic Dick O’Riordan after Amy became the 2018 winner of the Irish Freemasons young Musician of the Year).
