In Session is the new album from platinum selling & MOJO Awards winning artist Rumer. Having moved to the USA for a period of time, Rumer began working on a studio project to celebrate the work of Joni Mitchell. It was then that she first collaborated with London based, funk band Redtenbachers Funkestra, the original and mostly instrumental wall-to-wall Jazz Funk Collective of world class players who have previously collaborated with esteemed musicians such as Brand New Heavies, Cory Wong (Vulfpeck) and Andy Snitzer (Paul Simon). Through new arrangements of music that emerged during their work together, the idea of presenting an In Session record was born. Coming together at James Welchs Masterlink Studios, the songs that made her a worldwide million-seller like soulful singles “Slow” and “Aretha,” have been re-recorded here with Redtenbachers Funkestra to offer a timeless collection for the seasoned fan and newcomer alike. Multi-platinum singer Rumer received two Brit Award nominations for her debut album Seasons of My Soul. The album went on to sell over one million copies & is placed at #26 in the Official Top 40 biggest debut albums from the last decade. Rumers album Nashville Tears released in 2020 charted at #17 in the UK Album Charts. Currently touring with Kenny Thomas this autumn (2024) in the UK.
