From collaborations with TOM MISCH, ALFA MIST, and MANSUR BROWN to his collaboration with Kamaal Williams, Yussef Kamaal, Yussef Dayes is one of the most important drummers in contemporary UK jazz.Thisdocumentary film, “Yussef Dayes In Japan (Film),” features footage recorded at Mount Fuji during his visit to Japan.This live album, edited in FM radio format with Gilles Peterson,features familiar Yussef Dayes Experience players Venna (saxophone), Rocco Paladino (bass), and Elijah Fox (keyboards/synth), as well as Minami Kizuki (jo Minamikai), who also appears in the video, on vocals and the sanshin.This Japan-inspired album features artwork by Barka depicting Mount Fuji with a hand-drawn texture.The package includes a Japanese obi, marbled vinyl with a moss phlox motif, and an interview with Giles (in Japanese/English).
