Scaggs’ ninth album was released in 1980 and hit several Top 20 charts. “Middle Man” was tougher and harder (“You Got Some Imagination”) and funkier and groovier (“JoJo” and “Simone”) at the same time. Scaggs invited none other than Toto to join in with writing and producing the album, which is clearly noticeable on some tracks (“Breakdown ahead”). This album was a great start to the 80’s!
