Music / Sangam’ was definitely the most unjustly neglected of all Don Cherry’s albums before Heavenly Sweetness reissued it.
The album was recorded in 1978 in Paris and was only released in France.
It was the first meeting between Don Cherry and Indian percussionist Latif Khan and the result is an incredible mixture of jazz and Indian music – one of the finest examples of multi-cultural music making.
