Sally Potter directs this adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s modernist novel starring Tilda Swinton as the eponymous hero. In 1603, young androgynous nobleman Orlando is promised by Queen Elizabeth I (Quentin Crisp) a plot of land and a castle along with a large sum of money. The generous bequeathment is however only claimable as long as Orlando promises to never age.
