Beethoven: Concerto No. 2 in B flat Major for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 19 – Bach: Concerto No. 1 in D Minor for Piano and Orchestra is the third album of the Canadian classical pianist Glenn Gould. It contained a 1957 recording of Ludwig van Beethovens second Piano Concerto and Johann Sebastian Bachs Keyboard Concerto BWV 1052, with Leonard Bernstein conducting the Columbia Symphony Orchestra. His recording of the D-minor Concerto, made with Leonard Bernstein in 1957, remains to this day gorgeous in its simplicity and, as always with Gould, remarkable in its technical finish. His performance of Beethoven’s Concert No.2 was a riotous success. Bernstein: “He is the greatest thing that happened to music in years.” 1. I. Allegro Con Brio (1-3 Beethoven) 2. Ii. Adagio 3. Iii. Rondo: Molto Allegro 4. I. Allegro (3-6 Bach) 5. Ii. Adagio 6. Iii. Allegro
