Brooklyn bluesman/songwriter Al Kooper is best known for his 1968 album Super Session together with guitarists Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills and as co-founder of Blood, Sweat & Tears and of course well known for his tremendous amount of studio work as session musician (organ on Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone” and hundreds more from The Stones to Jimi Hendrix) and producer. In 1972 he discovered Lynyrd Skynyrd and played and produced their first three albums including ìSweet Home Alabamaî. This double albumís CD 1, “Rare” is a career spanning collection of rare and previously unreleased tracks (1964-2001) and CD 2 “Well Done” is a collection of his “Greatest Hits”.
