Canadian progressive rock duo Crown Lands (Cody Bowles & Kevin Comeau), winner of a Juno Award, returns with a special, limited physical release titled ‘Ritual I+II’. This instrumental/experimental release marks the beginning of the band’s new collaboration with InsideOutMusic/Sony Music and builds on the Crown Lands world that was established with their critically acclaimed album ‘Fearless’. As Cody explains, “Ritual was created during a tumultuous period in our lives. It served as a respite from the rising haze of the pandemic, far away from the stressful studio sessions that typically accompanied the pursuit of our mainstream sound. And so this record, I think, became our act of resistance against stagnation, at a time when so many familiar lights around us were fading into the deafening silence. It was a glimmer of light in our darkness. We knew from the beginning that this record was going to be somewhere, with me playing an array of flutes and drumming polyrhythmic bliss over Kev’s undulating and expansive aural synthesis matrixes.”‘ ‘Ritual I+II’ will be available as a Limited Edition 2LP on transparent orange vinyl, featuring the beautiful artwork by artist Justyna Koziczak.
