Chart conquering drum ’n’ bass outfit Rudimental reunite with Ivor Novello and Grammy Award winning artist Jess Glynne on their brand new single ‘Back To Me,’ taken from their upcoming fifth album RUDIM3NTAL out 22nd August.
In keeping with Rudimental’s recent releases, ‘Back To Me’ effortlessly blends liquid DnB production with Jess Glynne’s soulful and emotionally resonant vocals, creating an atmospheric breakup anthem sure to be another standout hit for the band ahead of a busy summer.
This will be the third time the drum’n’bass icons have worked with the singer, following their multi-platinum-selling #1 single ‘These Days’ in 2018, and ‘Dark Clouds’ that appeared on the band’s third album Toast To Our Differences.
As excitement for the upcoming fifth album RUDIM3NTAL builds, fans can look forward to hearing a number of unexpected collaborations featuring both emerging and established artists, as well as pirate radio legends. In addition to ‘Back To Me’, RUDIM3NTAL will include previously released tracks ‘All I Know’ with Khalid, ‘The Feeling’ with 1991, PNAU & AR/CO, ‘Ram Pam’ feat. Mystic Marley and Flowdan, ‘Bring Me Joy’ with Karen Harding, the Top 10 hit ‘Dancing Is Healing’ with Vibe Chemistry and Charlotte Plank and the two Skepsis-assisted offerings ‘Green & Gold’ feat. Charlotte Plank & Riko Dan and ‘Vex’ feat. MIST & Popcaan. This is in addition to guest appearances from Idris Elba, Venbee and Rag ’n’ Bone Man to name just a few on currently unreleased tracks.
As well as being packed full of explosive collaborations, RUDIM3NTAL is a re-calibration for the trio. Historically, Rudimental have been a multi-faceted outfit that mixes DJing, electronic music production and live instrumentation. While live instruments are still an essential part of RUDIM3NTAL, the upcoming album is a purer form of their signature sound as the trio showcase their roots and celebrate DnB in all of its many forms. Through their unique production and choice of featured guests, Rudimental dive deeper than ever before into the cultural links between pirate radio and sound system culture both in the UK and the Caribbean.
As one of the UK’s most successful dance acts of the last decade, Rudimental have set the bar high. Multiple chart entries, two #1 albums, three #1 singles, 5 billion streams, world tours, platinum-selling singles, and a plethora of awards have cemented their position as global trailblazers with a formidable reputation for producing hit records.
Having debuted their RUDIM3NTAL live setup on a headline tour of Australia and New Zealand at the start of the year – one which finds the trio back behind the decks in keeping with the album’s sound system roots – they subsequently took it to Coachella in April and EDC Las Vegas in May. They returned to the UK to play in front of one of the biggest crowds of the weekend at the recent Parklife festival, and also Glastonbury, whilst they will perform at Boomtown and Reading & Leeds festivals this summer.
