The album brought further stylistic changes that the band had already initiated on the previous album “Vol. 4”. The material was largely created in an abandoned dungeon in Gloucestershire, England, which set the tone for the entire album. The album contains one of the most famous recordings of the group – the title track “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” and is considered the quintessence of heavy metal.
