This vinyl celebrates the 50th anniversary Captain Beefhearts debut album (1967), is the most accessible and Pop-inflected from his entire catalogue. Still, ’Safe As Milk’ is a heavily Blues-influenced work and with features that would later become his trademarks. The record features a 20-year old Ry Cooder and Taj Mahal. The 7 bonus tracks are taken from the sessions for the unreleased Brown Wrapper follow-up album.
