Recorded during Queens hiatus between A Kind Of Magic and The Miracle, this is the debut album of Roger Taylors other band, The Cross. Though Roger is known for being the rock ‘n’ roll boy of Queen, this proves he is rather versatile and unexpected. ‘Shove It’ is a quintessential, sign-of-the-times late 80s album (in a good way). Remarkable for the album are the uncredited appearances of Taylor’s Queen mates. The track “Love Lies Bleeding” features a guest appearance by Brian May and Mercury appears on “Shove It” and on “Heaven For Everyone” which was re-recorded by Queen for their ‘Made In Heaven’ album after Mercury’s death
