Linda Blair stars in this supernatural horror sequel directed by John Boorman. Four years after her exorcism, Regan MacNeil (Blair) is living with her guardian Sharon Spencer (Kitty Winn) in New York City. Though she claims to remember nothing about her ordeal, her psychiatrist Dr. Gene Tuskin (Louise Fletcher) believes that her memories are repressed rather than lost. Meanwhile, Father Philip Lamont (Richard Burton), a man struggling with his faith after an exorcism he was attempting went tragically wrong, is sent to investigate the circumstances of Regans exorcism years before. As he learns more about Pazuzu and why Regan was targeted by the demon, both he and Regan are caught up in a desperate fight for survival. The cast also includes Max von Sydow and James Earl Jones.
