Drawing from 2010-era metalcore, djent, and Deftones-inspired post-hardcore, Pridian even channels a Korn-like nu-metal edge, particularly on the heavy yet catchy ‘Darker Tides’. The interlude ‘Synthetic Salvation’ highlights the band’s bold approach, as Laur states: ‘Some tracks are more production than song… that’s not metal, but I don’t care. It doesn’t matter to us what others say’. Mixed by Matt Thomas (Kingdom of Giants, Invent Animate), ‘Venetian Dark’ offers a state-of-the-art production in terms of balance and modernity.
