The Bats, New Zealand’s indie rock stalwarts, return with their much-anticipated 11th studio album, Corner Coming Up, set for release on October 17th, 2025 via Flying Nun Records.
Formed in Christchurch in 1982, Robert Scott, Kaye Woodward, Paul Kean, and Malcolm Grant have spent over four decades quietly crafting some of Aotearoa’s most beloved guitar pop.
Their sound - melodic, melancholic, and unassuming - has earned them a devoted global following and a permanent place in the pantheon of indie rock royalty.
Corner Coming Up finds The Bats in classic form: warm, jangling guitars, subtly intertwined vocals, and melodies that feel instantly familiar yet entirely fresh.
Recorded at Chicks Studio in Port Chalmers by Flying Nun veteran Tex Houston, the album captures the band’s enduring spirit and gentle evolution, reflecting on time, place, and the emotional landscapes in between.

In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible. Non-defective items:
