Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner returns with ‘Leave That In There’, a new trio album that finds him at a peak of his creativity and artistic ambition.
Following the success of ‘Southern Nights’, which earned the 2025 GRAMMY Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Fortner delivers his most personal work to date.
Recorded with his long-standing trio featuring bassist Tyrone Allen II and drummer Kayvon Gordon, ‘Leave That In There’ draws together memories, family histories and spiritual traditions that have shaped his artistic journey.
Praised by Robert Glasper as “a masterclass in history and a glimpse of the future,” the album reflects Fortner’s unique ability to bridge tradition and innovation by expanding the possibilities of the piano trio through a bold combination of acoustic instrumentation, analogue synthesizers, marimba and Bàtá drumming.
‘Leave That In There’ becomes a space of dialogue, memory, tension, humour and invention. The result is a bold artistic statement from one of the defining pianists of his generation, an album that broadens the language of contemporary jazz while looking simultaneously to its past and future.

Refund and Returns Policy Faulty or defective items:
In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible. Please email us at info@towerrecords.ie to arrange the return of a defective item. If goods are being returned due to being defective or an error on our behalf, we will refund delivery charges resulting from the return of the original order. Non-defective items:
If, for some reason, a customer wishes to return an item that is not defective, we will accept the item and issue a refund within 14 days from the day you received the item.
