This Homespun live remastered radio broadcast double feature captures two explosive sets from Sly and the Family Stone,.
The VPRO Radio broadcast from 1970 Kasteel Groeneveld, Baarn, Netherlands on September 10th and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert TV Show from the Palace Theatre, New York, NY October 9th, 1973 from Syndicated US TV.
Two pivotal moments, 1970, Sly and the family were riding high on the revolutionary funk of Stand!, and 1973, deep in the raw, psychedelic soul of Fresh.
The 1970 show brims with kinetic unity and joy, with hits like "Dance to the Music" and "Everyday People" delivered with communal fire.
By 1973, the groove darkens--grittier, moodier, but no less magnetic.
