Seven years after parting ways, Vallejo rap trailblazers SOB X RBE have reunited to deliver FROM THE LAND, a commanding 13-track project that reclaims their position at the forefront of Northern California hip-hop. Released via EMPIRE, the album brings Yhung T.O., DaBoii, and Slimmy B back into the same room, channeling the volcanic synergy of their youth through the grounded lens of adulthood.
Emerging in 2016, SOB X RBE redefined the West Coast sonic landscape almost overnight. Anthems like "Anti," "Calvin Cambridge," and "Lane Changing" introduced a breathless, kinetic energy characterized by rapid-fire vocal handoffs, bruising Bay Area bounce, and vivid neighborhood dispatches. Their 2018 landmark releases, GANGIN and GANGIN II, crowned them leaders of a new generation, while their standout turn on Kendrick Lamar’s curated Black Panther: The Album with "Paramedic!" broadcast their Vallejo sound across the globe.
When the group dissolved in 2019 to navigate solo careers and adult life under the public eye, it felt like an abrupt pause on one of rap's most vital brotherhoods. Nearly a decade since their inception, FROM THE LAND proves that the foundation never cracked.
"Time gave us the chance to grow up, become fathers and understand what really matters. We never stopped being brothers," the group noted. That hard-won perspective permeates the record: fathers now, with individual artistic legacies behind them, the trio balance their trademark volatility with moments of maturity, trading verses with the ease of lifelong friends who know each other's cadence by heart.
Anchored by reunion singles like "Ten Summers," the hometown-anchored title track "From The Land," and the melodic, reflective "Someone," the album bridges street-level grit with melodic nuance. In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible. Please email us at info@towerrecords.ie to arrange the return of a defective item. If goods are being returned due to being defective or an error on our behalf, we will refund delivery charges resulting from the return of the original order.
