The Action, once the face of London's modal soul underground, projected their passion for Motown into their sound with tight harmonies, delivering a passionate stage performance. Surprisingly, they caught George Martin's attention, and they signed with Parlophone. Although they released five singles, they did not become major hits. As the music scene evolved, they too underwent transformation, and these recordings, recorded between 1967 and 1968 in London studios without labels, producers, or funding, represent the full picture of that transformation. From a blue-eyed soul band, to psychedelic seekers obsessed with The Byrds and Coltrane, and eventually to Mighty Babies. Martin Stone recorded these recordings like a wizard, Ian Whiteman based on flute and orthodox musical education, and Leg King recorded these recordings with soulful singing word by word.
The latest remastered recordings from 1967-68 are considered the best to date. Includes the original mono master, stereo Black Hill sessions, and bonus tracks. Comes with a 12-page booklet featuring photos and materials.

In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible. If goods are being returned due to being defective or an error on our behalf, we will refund delivery charges resulting from the return of the original order. Non-defective items:
