Miles Davis' quintet was formed in 1955 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest combos in jazz history. Each of its members was an individual creative force that could have easily been a leader. Cookin' is the first in a series of four albums featuring the classic group, which consisted of Davis (trumpet), John Coltrane (tenor sax), Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), and Philly Joe Jones (drums). Like its followers Steamin', Workin' and Relaxin', Cookin' is the product of two massively productive recording sessions during May and October of 1956. In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible.
