Formed from Yorkshire beat-era roots and reborn in London as The Smoke, Mick Rowley, Mal Luker, John "Zeke" Lund and Geoff Gill were one of the great should-have-been bands of the British psychedelic explosion.
Though their UK breakthrough was curtailed by controversy, their blistering "My Friend Jack" found a far warmer reception in Germany, where it climbed to No. 2 and briefly made them genuine continental stars.
Rushed out for the German market in 1967, It's Smoke Time caught the band at their peak: a vivid collision of tough mod-pop, garage bite and emerging psychedelia. From the fuzz-driven attack of "My Friend Jack", "High In A Room" and "We Can Take It" to the melodic charm of "Waterfall" and "Wake Up Cherylina", it remains a prized snapshot of mid-Sixties freakbeat invention.
This expanded Morgan Blue Town edition brings that cult classic back on premium green 180gm vinyl, adding the previously unreleased original version of "My Friend Jack" and a detailed insert essay. Refund and Returns Policy Faulty or defective items:
In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible. If goods are being returned due to being defective or an error on our behalf, we will refund delivery charges resulting from the return of the original order. Non-defective items:
If, for some reason, a customer wishes to return an item that is not defective, we will accept the item and issue a refund within 14 days from the day you received the item.
