AUGUST 19 - London band World News announce their eagerly anticipated debut album In Purgatory for October 16th. New single ‘The Way It Goes’ comes with the news and is yet another shining example of the quartet’s canny knack of crafting engaging retro-indie that feels right at home in the current landscape.
Debut album In Purgatory collects 11 of these gems together, taken from across the band’s sprawling opening era. The new single is evidence of this, as well as the evergreen thematic approach which chimes with the timeless sonics. As vocalist Alex Evans explains:
“The way it goes was mostly written and demo’d back in 2020. The lyrics don’t possess too much of a story, but are more phrases, thoughts and collections of words of how I was feeling at the time. The album has a few songs on it similar to this that were written a few years ago, whilst some of the other tracks were written more recently, and in some cases weeks/days before hitting the studio (like Sidestep). We’re all very excited to share the album with everyone.”
‘The Way It Goes’ follows April’s aforementioned ‘Sidestep’ - which captured the imagination of Rolling Stone (UK) and NME - in building on a turning-point year for the band.

Refund and Returns Policy
If the product is in its original condition and unopened, we will accept its return within fourteen days from the day you received the item. You will receive a full refund to the value of the item* *Applies to Online orders only
Refund and Returns Policy Faulty or defective items:
In the unlikely event you receive an item from us that is either defective or faulty, please let us know so we can arrange collection of the item and dispatch a replacement as soon as possible. If goods are being returned due to being defective or an error on our behalf, we will refund delivery charges resulting from the return of the original order. Non-defective items:
If, for some reason, a customer wishes to return an item that is not defective, we will accept the item and issue a refund within 14 days from the day you received the item. If, for some reason, a customer wishes to return an item that is not defective, your item must be unused and in the same “as new” condition that you received it. To return an item:
Please wrap the item and the package securely and send them to the address below. We do not accept liability for goods which are returned in faulty packaging.
